Jorie Knysz is from Buffalo Grove, Illinois where she began dancing at the age of two. She grew up training intensively in rhythmic gymnastics while beginning her dance training but at the age of 9, Jorie chose to focus on competitive dance. Her main training was at Dance Xplosion in Addison, IL, and Soul2Sole Dance Inc. in Buffalo Grove, where she trained in ballet, pointe, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, musical theater, and more. Through these studios, she was able to work with world-renowned choreographers like Shannon Mather, Rudy Abreu, and Talia Favia. During high school, Jorie was a member of Adlai E. Stevenson’s Varsity Patriette Dance Team for four years. For three years on the team, she helped choreograph national and state-winning routines as well as other Illinois awards. She was a member of the choreography team for three years as well as captain her senior year. In 2020 she won Dance Team Union nationals with her self-choreographed solo.
Now, Jorie is a senior at Texas Tech University where she is a fourth-year member of the Texas Tech Pom Squad. As a member of the Pom squad, she has won two NDA national championships in D1A Pom and D1A Jazz and an ICU World Championship in the premiere Jazz category. In her junior year she was awarded the Veteran of the Year award. In school, she is studying Forensic Anthropology with minors in forensic science and archaeological studies. During the summer she travels the country spreading her love for dance and teaching through Universal Dance Association.
Jorie is looking forward to working with the dancers at Revolution Elite Dance and spreading her passion for dance to each student!
